Swimming & Diving Opens NCAC Championships on Wednesday Night

Granville, Ohio - The Oberlin College swimming and diving teams got the 2022 North Coast Athletic Conference Championships underway Wednesday night on the campus of Denison University.

It was a light night of action with just men's 3-meter diving and the scored 800-meter free relays on both sides taking place.

In the grueling relay, the Yeomen grouping of Isaac Viviano, Dylan Bechtold, Myles Felt, and Erik Fendorf placed with fifth, shaving five seconds off their seed time by clocking in at 7:07.19 to secure the fourth-fastest time in school history. 

The women's team quartet of Bella Sites, Lucy Lee, Rachel Maxwell, and Hannah Hale also ended in fifth place in a time of 8:14.17.

Through three scored events, the Yeowomen rest in fifth place with 56 points, while the Yeomen are sixth with 56 points. 

The Kenyon College Lords led the men's side with 163 points, while the Ladies of Kenyon also sit atop the day-one standings with 70 points. 

Day two's full slate of events commences tomorrow morning with preliminary races set for 9:30 a.m. with the finals to follow that evening at 6 p.m.
