Granville, Ohio – The Oberlin College swimming and diving teams turned in an array of impressive performances on day three of the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships.
At night's end the Yeowomen remained in fifth place with 489 points, while the Yeomen moved up a spot to rest in sixth place with 454.5 points.
The night started with the Yeomen grouping of
Nora Holder,
Isaac Viviano,
Myles Felt, and
Erik Fendorf recording the fourth fastest time in program history in the 200-yard medley relay as the unit placed sixth overall in 1:36.42.
In the very next event, Felt moved into seventh in school history in the 400-yard IM as he stopped the clock at 4:16.54 to secure 18 team points with a 12
th-place finish.
Fendorf followed with a strong swim in the 100-yard butterfly, clocking in at 51.32 to end in 10
th while moving into sixth on Oberlin's all-time top times list.
Viviano continued his impressive rookie campaign, climbing into third all-time in the 100-yard breaststroke by tapping in at 58.37 to place 10
th overall.
The Yeowomen opened the night with a sixth-place showing in the 200-yard medley relay as
Ava Peyton,
Audrey Weber,
Ellie Frost, and
Isabel Pfaff clocked in at 1:51.70. However, their morning prelim session of 1:51.44 moved them into fifth in school history.
Frost later returned to record the eighth-fastest time in school history in the 100-yard fly, stopping the clock at 59.98 to end in 11
th.
Ava Schigur added 16 more points as she was three spots back in 1:01.46.
First-year
Bella Sites was 13
th in the 400-yard IM in 4:48.79, while senior
Kate Raphaely later added a 17
th-place effort (1:12.62) in the 100-yard breast in her final conference meet.
Peyton closed out the night for the Yeowomen by claiming fifth all-time in the 100-yard backstroke with a mark of 1:00.78 to end 13
th in the event.
The final day of the NCAC Championships will get underway tomorrow at 9:30 a.m.
