Naeisha McClain,
Marija Crook, and
Oona Jung-Beeman are four of Oberlin's seven U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region honorees.
Also earning all-region status was
Malaika Djungu-Sungu,
Maya English, and
Adriano Atallah.
To earn all-region honors, an athlete must be one of the top-5 individuals in their event in their respective region. In addition, each member of a region's top-3 relay team was selected for the distinction. A total of 1,595 athletes from 200 different institutions earned all-region honors nationwide with 805 going to the men and an additional 790 to the women.
Voit's national-qualifying and school-record mark of 12-08.25 (3.87m) in the pole vault ranks second in the Great Lakes Region and fifth in the country.
McClain's season-best heave of 45-01.50 (13.75m) in the shot put is second in the region and 14th in the country, while Jung-Beeman's school-record and national-qualifying time of 2:15.54 in the 800 meters is fourth best in the Great Lakes.
Crook's mile time of 5:06.19 from the All-Ohio Championships was fifth fastest in the region and she was a late addition into the national meet after a scratch. English's toss in the weight throw that traveled 53-02.75 (16.22m) at the Spartan Holiday Classic.
Djungu-Sungu, a sophomore from Arlington, Texas, was third in the region in the triple jump with a mark 37-07.75 (11.47m).
Atallah's school-record total of 4,475 points in the heptathlon was second in the region and he was also fourth in the Great Lakes with his school-record time of 22.25 in the 200-meter dash.
At the national meet this weekend, Voit will be looking for her second All-American honor, while McClain looks to bookend her indoor shot put career as an All-American after earning the honor in her first year with Jung-Beeman vying for her first top-eight nationals finish.
