Geneva, Ohio – Three Oberlin College track and field athletes have qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships, which will take place May 23-25 at the SPIRE Institute in nearby Geneva, Ohio.
First-year pole vaulter
Sarah Voit will be joined by junior
Oona Jung-Beeman and senior
Hank Sinn.
Voit, who won the North Coast Athletic Conference title in the pole vault in both indoors and outdoors, enters as the No. 10 seed with her school-record mark of 12-06.25 (3.82m).
Jung-Beeman, a junior from Wilmette, Illinois, is the 22
nd seed in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as her winning time of 11:03.33 from the NCAC Championship meet earned her a spot in the meet.
Sinn will be making his first nationals appearance in the hammer throw as the No. 19 seed with his second-record heave of 187-11 (57.29m), which he set at the Harrison Dillard Twilight meet on May 10.
The women's pole vault will be contested on Thursday, May 23 at noon. The women's 3,000-meter steeplechase will be later that evening at 5:25 p.m. The men's hammer throw will take place on Saturday at 1:45 p.m.
