Oberlin, Ohio – Oberlin College Heisman Club President Carla Freyvogel '79 announced the appointment of the Next Generation Board.
 
The Next Generation board is comprised of young alumni: Blaise Dolcemaschio '16 (Baseball), Jackie McDermott '18 (Women's Tennis), Monique Newton '18 (Women's Track & Field), Molly Powers '16 (Volleyball), and Federico Consuegra '18 (Football). Their mission is to bring a new and modern approach to the Heisman Club to better engage recent alumni.
 
"All of these young alums have exciting lives ahead of them and a drive to support the College for the opportunities it provided them," Freyvogel said. "They are a diverse and smart group that flourished during their time on campus and I know they will continue to impact the athletics department in their post-graduate lives."
 
The Next Generation board has already been busy raising funds and awareness around the "Keeping Score" crowdfunding initiative to support a new scoreboard at Bailey Field. They will work closely with mentor and board member Amanda Van Allen '09 to increase outreach with younger alumni. Associate Director of Leadership Annual Giving, Lisa Thuer will also serve as a liaison between the group and the College.
 
"The Next Generation Board of the Heisman Club provides us with the opportunity to cultivate, engage and empower our most recent student-athlete alumni," Associate Vice President for Athletics Advancement and Delta Lodge Director of Athletics & Physical Education Natalie Winkelfoos said. "This dynamic group will serve as an integral extension of the Heisman Club advising us on trends and programmatic opportunities that will assist in increasing participation and philanthropic support of young alumni ultimately ensuring the growth and mission of the Heisman Club."
