OBERLIN, Ohio - In gearing up for the season finale on Saturday, Oberlin College women's lacrosse dominated the Hiram College Terriers in an 18-3, rout on Wednesday night.
The Crimson and Gold got off to a hot start with 12 goals in the opening half. The Yeowomen captured a 9-0 lead before the Terriers could get on the board.Â
Oberlin dominated the run of play outshooting the Terriers 24-2 in the first half en route to a 36-9 differential. The Terriers managed no successful clears going 0-2, while the Yeowomen finished 2-of-5. In the win, Oberlin converted on all five free position opportunities, sealed 15-of-21 draw controls and hauled in 20 groundballs as a unit.
Five different Yeowomen tallied goals in the opening 15-minutes with

Eliza Amber followed and
Maggie Mullard made it 3-0 a minute later.
After Rauchle tallied her second of the match,
Sara Phister struck twice to give Oberlin a 6-0 advantage. Rauchle completed the hat-trick at the 17-minute mark and

A Hiram goal from Sierah Ray stopped the run but only momentarily. Seconds after the Hiram score,

The Yeowomen took a 12-1 lead into the intermission.
Hiram showed signs of life early on in the second half, but the deficit was too great to overcome.Â

With a running clock already invoked and the scoreline at 13-3 in Oberlin's favor, four more Yeowomen notched goals to drive the hosts to 12-1 overall and 6-1 in league play.
