Oberlin Athletics Unveils a New Family of Logos

The new primary "OC" features a beveled design.

Family of Logos Homepage

Oberlin, Ohio - After nearly a two-year process, the Oberlin College Athletics Department has selected a new family of logos that will give all of Oberlin's athletics teams a fresh and modern new look.

The goal of this project was to provide an updated family of logos that were clean looking - yet pronounced - that would attract the eyes of fans, alums and recruits.

A committee within the athletics department embarked on this project and after many months of deliberation and surveys of both the current student body and alums, no literal pictorial images of a Yeomen or Yeowomen could be agreed upon, therefore the committee elected to focus on adding new word marks to support the updated "OC".

The new designs were courtesy of Jim Ward, who has worked with multiple collegiate institutions and business.

"We are thrilled with our updated logo and word marks," said Committee Chair and Associate Director of Athletics for Development & Alumni Affairs #Natalie Winkelfoos#. "This new family of logos brings movement and confidence to our athletic symbols. Working with Jim Ward was great. He is a true professional and his enthusiasm for the creative process is contagious. We can't thank Jim enough for the patience, passion and price he delivered to our committee."

The new logos will provide the athletics department with a more consistent look throughout all of its teams and help strengthen the brand of Oberlin athletics throughout the community, state and country.

Over the years many of Oberlin's uniforms and athletics apparel have varied in colors in design. The official school colors are listed as crimson and gold and this new family of logos will help us return to those roots.

Fans should look out for the new logo to be appearing all across campus on uniforms, fields, publications and the website in the coming weeks and months.
