Gail's Porch and the River of Life Installation

Dedicated to Gail Gorlitzz (1948 - 2017), the beloved wife of Cris Smith, Oberlin College '68.

The marriage of Gail, an artist, and Cris, an athlete, is a pairing as unexpected as finding an art installation embedded in a viewing platform above a sports field. Yet the values of artists and athletes are the same. They master their craft through dedication, focus, intensity, and the courage to put themselves on the line for others.

Gail was passionate about life and creating relationships. She excelled as a visual artist, educator, friend, wife, mother, and warrior against cancer. Her generous spirit and magical creativity inspired all who knew her.
