Lynda McCandlish

Two-time NCAA Division I National Champion Lynda McCandlish will guide the Yeowomen lacrosse team for her sixth season in 2019.
 
McCandlish, a two-time NCAC Coach of the Year, has transformed the Yeowomen lacrosse program in her short tenure, leading the team to 53 wins in the last five years (2014-2018).

  • Led the Yeowomen to NCAC Championship game in 2015 and 2017, finishing runner-up to Denison University. In 2015 it was Oberlin’s first NCAC Tournament berth since 2000
  • Coached Natalie Rauchle '18 to be the school's all-time leader in goals (216) and points (250). Rauchle also set the NCAC single-season scoring record in 2018 with 82 goals.
  • NCAC Tournament participates in three out of the last four seasons (2015, 2017-18)
  • IWLCA Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year (2017)
  • Led the team to a 14-2 overall record and a 7-2 mark in the NCAC in 2017
  • Mentored four IWLCA All-Region selections and four IWLCA All-Academic selections in 2017
  • Coached seven All-NCAC selections in 2018, including Rauchle, who was the league's offensive player of the year
  • Guided the team to an 11-6 overall record and 4-4 league mark in 2015 with three of the four losses coming by one goal.
  • Mentored an array of players to IWLCA All-Region honors and produced numerous All-NCAC honorees, including 2015 Defensive Player of the year Alexa L’Insalata.
  • Enters 2019 with a career record of 53-26 (.670 winning percentage)
  • 13 conference wins over the last two years (2017-18)
  • Helped the Wildcats of Northwestern University win the NCAA title in 2005 and 2006. She was a part of the winningest class in school history at the time of her graduation with 64 wins over four years.
  • A native of Upper Arlington, Ohio, McCandlish led her high school alma mater to a state championship in 2008 as the head coach of the Golden Bears. She became the first women's lacrosse player in Ohio history to win a state championship as both a player and coach.
  • McCandlish was a double major in communication studies and psychology at Northwestern.
