– Oberlin College junior Sarah Hughes was named North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
 
Hughes turned in a perfect 4-0 weekend for the Yeowomen while playing exclusively at No. 1 singles and doubles.
 
The Haddonfield, New Jersey, native started her weekend with a 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 come-from-behind victory over Centre's Neho Rao in singles play. It was a grueling match for Hughes as she and Emma Brezel also gutted out a 9-8 (10-8) tiebreak win at No. 1 doubles against the Colonels.
 
On Sunday afternoon, Hughes went on to beat Gretchen Wilder of DePauw, who ranks 20^th in the region, by a 6-2, 6-3 margin. Hughes and Brezel were also 8-4 winners in doubles play to extend their winning streak to six straight matches.
