Oberlin junior James Tanford was named as the North Coast Athletic Conference men's Sprints/Hurdles Runner of the Week on Monday afternoon.

It is the second time this season that the Bloomington, Indiana, native has earned weekly praise from the league office as he was named Field Athlete of the Week back on December 5.

This past Saturday at Wooster's Fighting Scots Invitational, Tanford won the 200-meter dash in 23.49 and took second in the 400-meters with a time of 51.97 to help lead the Yeomen to a fourth-place team finish. Both events featured 14 other runners in the field.

Tanford also placed in the triple jump with a mark of 41-10 to complete his busy afternoon.
