Monique Newton kicked off her sophomore campaign with a school-record toss to win the shot put at the Mount Union Toy Drive Invite. The Sacramento, California, native used her third attempt to release a heave of 14.29m to win the event and claim NCAC Field Athlete of the Week honors.
