At the All-Ohio Championship meet at Ohio Wesleyan University, first-year Monique Newton helped the Yeowomento a sixth places finish with a second place result in the discus.

Newton bested classmate Ana Richardson's school record in the women's discus with a toss of 140.05. Newton would also add a new school record in the shot put with a winning throw of 43-05.75.
