Joanna Johnson, a native of Chico, California, secured a trip nationals by flying through the 5,000 meter course at the Boston University Valentine Invitational in 17:02.28 en route to claiming NCAC Distance Runner of the Week accolades. The timestamp is the second fastest in all of DIII this season and broke her own school in the event by over 15 seconds
