Senior Maya English opened up her season grand fashion, winning the weight throw at the Spartan Holiday Classic with a personal-best toss of  53-02.75 (16.22m), which currently ranks her sixth in the country. She also placed seventh in the shot put with a mark of 32-02 (9.80m).
