Jacob Thompson had a sensational collegiate debut, helping the Yeomen to a pair of 8-7 wins over Capital University. The Corinth, Texas, native powered the Yeomen lineup by going 6-for-9 with two home runs, a triple, five RBIs, and three runs scored. He amassed 14 total bases on the day. Thompson, who also had two stolen bases, went 4-for-5 in the lid-lifter with an RBI triple to score the game's first run. He would later lead-off the seventh with a solo home run that staked the Yeomen to a 6-4 lead at the time.
