Leclercq Leads All-NCAC Selections

Farah Leclercq was named as the NCAC's Player of Year on Thursday
Westlake, Ohio – The North Coast Athletic Conference named three Yeowomen to its all-conference women's tennis team on Thursday, including 2013's NCAC Player of the Year Farah Leclercq.

Leclercq led the way for the Yeowomen as a first-team selection, along with being name the conference's top player. The native of Ocala, Fla., finished the 2012-13 season with a 19-6 record in singles at No. 1 for Oberlin. Leclercq finished the season ranked ninth in the ITA's Central Region in singles.

"Any honor you receive in this league means a lot, as it is arguably one of the toughest in the country and certainly the toughest one in our region in our sport," head coach Constantine Ananiadis said. "So for Farah to get Player of the Year and for us to have so many others recognized says a lot about our program and how well we did this season."

The doubles team of Leclercq and sophomore Grace Porter were named to the All-NCAC second team after a 15-7 record this year. The duo ended the season ranked third in the region.

For her singles play at second, third, and fourth flights throughout the season, Porter received all-conference honorable mention for the second consecutive year.

Rounding out the all-conference honorees, junior Brenna Sheldon was named to the All-NCAC second team. In 2012-13, Sheldon played the majority as Oberlin's No. 2 in singles and finished the season with a 13-5 record. Sheldon also received second team honors last season.
