Box Score

Granville, Ohio – Playing just its second true road match of the season, the Oberlin College men's tennis team was unable to keep pace with Denison University in a 7-2 loss on Saturday afternoon.

The Big Red, who rank No. 11 in the ITA Central Region, took two of three doubles matches and won at spots two through six in singles play.

The Yeomen's No. 1 doubles tandem of Ben Turchin and Charlie Marks did earn a hard-fought 8-6 win over Grant Veltman and Shankar Rajupet. It was the pair's 10th victory of the season, and seventh in their last 10 tries.

Calln Louis and Soren Zeliger also challenged Casey Campre and Andrew Marczak at No. 2, but were ultimately upended 8-4.

Louis continued to play great tennis in singles as he bested Campre 6-2, 4-6, 10-5 to record his fourth straight win.  The Cambridge, Massachusetts, has now won 13 of his last 15 matches.

Marks, Turchin, and Zeliger all fell in straight sets in spots two through four, as did Eliot Heaton and Brandon McKenna at No.5 and 6, respectively.

Oberlin has another tough test ahead when it travels to nearby Case Western Reserve on Wednesday afternoon for a 5 p.m. tilt. The Spartans currently rank No. 13 in the nation and No. 2 in the Central Region.
