Oberlin, Ohio- The Oberlin College men's tennis team defeated Heidelberg University on Tuesday in Heisman Field House, 9-0.
Junior
Charlie Marks led the Yeomen by winning first singles in two sets, 6-2, 6-2. Marks also went on to win first doubles with senior
Ben Turchin, 8-3. In second singles play, Turchin won after dropping the first set by the score of 4-6, 6-4, 10-3.
Freshman
Callan Louis won in third singles, 6-2, 6-1, while sophomore
Soren Zeliger took fourth singles, 6-2, 6-3. Louis and Zeliger went on to team up for a victory in second doubles by the score of 8-3.
Rounding out the singles lineup for the Yeomen, senior
Eliot Heaton and freshman
Brandon McKenna won fifth and sixth singles by the scores of 6-1, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-0, respectively.
The Yeomen finished the day taking third doubles as freshman
Eli Rogatz and Heaton won, 8-1.
The Yeomen advance to 2-1 on the season and will look to win three in a row on February 23 when they travel to Ohio Wesleyan for a 9 a.m. match.
