The ITA Regionals featured top tier tennis players from across with the region with the Oberlin College women's tennis team playing well against elite competition.

“It was a great weekend for our team,” head coach Constantine Ananiadis said. “Our goal was to raise our level of intensity from last weekend and we did that. Consequently, we pulled out some really good wins in singles over some very good competition. Our doubles is also coming together nicely and some of the new combinations we tried this weekend worked out really well. These matches will help us tremendously in a couple of weekends when we play CMU & Grove City as well as in the spring."

First-year Ariel Lewis had a strong tournament for the Yeowomen in the Championship side of the draw. After losing in the opening round (6-3, 6-1), to seeded and eventual tournament champion Jennifer Kung, Leiws rebounded by winning her next three matches to reach the finals of the consolation draw, where she was upended by Kristin Cobb of Denison by the count of 6-3 and 6-1.

Senior Olivia Hayden also registered two wins in the consolation bracket before falling to Aswini Krishman in the quarterfinals.

Fellow senior Kelly Sipp also won her first-round match-up in the championship draw by defeating Kari Larson of Kalamazoo College by back-to-back scores of 6-1.

Lewis partnered with Jane Hayden to reach the finals of the OC Open doubles draw, notching three victories along the way.

Oberlin will conclude the fall portion of its season on October 11 with a pair of dual matches against Carnegie Mellon and Grove City.
