Oberlin Track & Field Completes Day One of Duke Invitational

Halfway through day one of the Duke Invitational, the Oberlin College track and field teams are off to a good start.

Sophomore sprinter Melissa Elie got things going by tying for fifth place in the 100 meters with a mark of 13.32. She later returned to place 11th in the 200 meters with a timestamp of 26.74.

First-years Hannah Combe and Erica Long both turned in impressive performances in the 1,500-meter run as Combe checked in seventh at 5:00.90 and Long followed in eighth with a time of 5:01.48.

On the men's side sophomore Shawn Chrapczynski placed 12th in the 400 meters as he stopped the clock in 50.95.

Junior Albert Davilia ended in 15th place in the 1,500 meters as he completed the course in 4:12.23.

First-year Eric Line turned in a sixth-place effort in the 5,000 meters, posting a time of 15:33.10
