Complete Men's Results  l Complete Women's Results

Delaware, Ohio
– The men's and women's track & field teams traveled to the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University to compete in the Marv Frye Invite. The women finished with 59.5 points (6-of-15 teams) while the men scored 46 (7-of-15 teams).

The highlight of the day on the men's side came from junior Josh Gallagher. The West Harrison, New York native set a personal best and Oberlin school record with a toss of 139-04 in the hammer throw. The school record distance was good enough for 8th place in a very competitive field. Gallagher also finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 147-01.

For the women, the relay team of Madeline Schultz, Laura Vernon, Amanda Miller, and Marissa Clardy provided some excitement of their own as they won the 4x400 meter relay in a time of 4:03.64.

Clardy, the first-year from Kittanning, Pennsylvania also took third place in the 400-meter dash, crossing the line in 59.89 seconds. Seth Wimberly equaled Clardy's finish for the Oberlin men. Wimberly stopped the clock at 50.35 seconds, which also gave the Yeomen third place.

Also performing well for Oberlin was Stephen Williams who battled the elements to finish second in the 3000-meter steeplechase, finishing in 9:46.25.

Head Coach Ray Appenheimer said, “Both our teams really competed hard today. Unfortunately despite the sunshine, it was pretty windy here and difficult to post a really good time or distance.”

Oberlin will hope for some better conditions when they host Wooster in a dual meet Friday, April 16th. Oberlin will also compete in the All-Ohio Championships Saturday, April 17th at 10 a.m.
