“I thought our women competed very well,” Head Coach Ray Appenheimer said. “We knocked off some good teams today in a high quality environment.”

The Yeomen were paced by first-year Eric Line's 27th place effort. The Dover, Delaware product ran 26:51 over the 8000-meter course. Sophomore Stephen Williams was close behind in 26:55, good for 34th overall. Sophomore David Cogswell led the second scoring pack for Oberlin with a 39th place finish (27:23), followed by sophomore Ben Schild (41st, 27:29) and junior Justin Warner (45th, 27:36). The men placed seventh as a team with 177 points. University of Massachusetts-Lowell won the event with 38 points.

“Our men mixed it up with a very good field,” Appenheimer said. “I'm proud of the way they competed and think we can improve over the course of the season.”

Both Oberlin squads are back in action next week. The All-Ohio Championships take place in Delaware on Friday, October 2.
