Final Results
Meadville, Pa. – The Oberlin College track and field teams were in action on Friday looking to set national qualifying marks at the Allegheny College Gator Invitational.
Senior
Nicky Ouellet bettered her NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 1,500 meters by touching the tape at 4:34.72 to finish second in the event.
Sophomore
Amanda Miller turned in a strong performance in the 400 meter dash with time of 59.28 to finish fifth overall.
The women's 4x400 meter relay team also checked in fifth as the grouping of
Clara Shaw,
Laura Vernon, Madeline Shultz and Miller combined to complete the course in 4:01.02.
On the men's side, sophomore
Solomon Turner claimed the top spot in the 400 meter dash as he flew through the finish line with a personal-best time of 49.05.
Josh Gallagher continued his impressive sophomore campaign with a lifetime-best discus toss of 152-00.
Senior
Ryan King missed an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 1,500 meters by just two one hundredths of seconds with a time of 3:55.02, placing him fourth in the event.
Without
Seth Wimberly, the 4x400 relay of team Turner, #
Reshard El-Shair#,
Shawn Chrapczynski and
Peter Morris still managed to post a time of 3:18.75 to finish in fourth place.
Oberlin will have one last chance to establish national qualifying times next weekend at North Central College.
