Yeowomen Tennis Earn Quarterfinal Win

Ariel Lewis and the Yeowomen are hoping to win the NCAC Championship, Lewis has won five straight matches

– The Oberlin College women's tennis team moved one match closer to an NCAC Championship with a win over Ohio Wesleyan University in the Quarterfinals. The Yeowomen defeated the Bishops 5-0 in the afternoon match on the Kenyon College campus.

Oberlin would take a 3-0 lead following doubles action. The No. 1 duo of first-years Ariel Lewis and Finley Gates were 8-2 winners. The four Yeowomen seniors would provide Oberlin some breathing room. Olivia Hayden and Kelly Sipp won 8-4, Jane Hayden and Sarah Teitelbaum earned an 8-2 victory.

OC would earn their next two points from quick wins at the No. 1 and 2 singles spots.
Lewis, now 24-8 overall, earned an easy 6-0, 6-2 win. O. Hayden was able to defeat Emily Kiourtsis 7-6, 6-3 providing the fifth team point.

Oberlin (13-11) will be back in action Sunday morning in a semifinal meeting with Denison University at 11 a.m. The NCAC Championship match will take place at 3 p.m.
