Delaware, Ohio – Oberlin College had no match for No. 24 Ohio Wesleyan as it cruised past the Yeomen for a 24-3 victory in North Coast Athletic Conference men's lacrosse action on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bishops (5-3, 1-0 NCAC) came out with a flurry and scored 12 goals in the opening period a never looked back.
“We just played a flat out better team today,” head coach Kevin Walz said. “They pressured us early on and we didn't react well, and a good team like that will make you pay every time.”
Oberlin's only offense came in the third period as
Alex Jacobs followed a
Dylan Holmes goal with a pair of scores that were each assisted by Jesse Kane.
The Yeomen (1-4, 0-1 NCAC) were out-shot 58-21, but did manage to win 13-of-31 face-offs as Kane went 6-of-9, while Jacobs finished 4-of-6.
Oberlin will look to bounce on Saturday when Medaille comes to town for the Yeomen's first game of the season on Fred Shults Field. All the action is set to begin at 1 p.m.
