Oberlin, Ohio – The visiting Scots of the College of Wooster upended the Oberlin College men's tennis team this afternoon, playing for the first time this spring at Don Hunsinger Courts.
The Yeomen were most productive during doubles action this afternoon with some good tennis coming from the No. 1 and No. 3 pairings.
Ben Godlove and
Joe Leffler were in a tight contest with Pat Grab and Ethan Arenstein, 8-3 at No. 1 doubles on the year, but the Scot duo was able to pull out an 8-6 win.
OC's No. 3 combo of
James Blankenship and
Sam Towne held their own against The College of Wooster's Chris Collen and Brad Palanski before falling 8-4.
“It was good to be back home and playing again on Don Hunsinger Courts. We had some competitive doubles matches this afternoon, but we came out flat in our singles matches and Wooster took advantage early,” commented OC head coach Adam Shoemaker.
The Fighting Scots (9-2) used good opening sets in all six singles matches to pull away from the Yeomen.
Oberlin will have the opportunity to defend Hunsinger Courts again this week as they host conference foe Allegheny College on Saturday at 2 p.m.
