The Yeowomen found themselves trailing 4-2 at the conclusion of singles action. Oberlin had winners at No. 1 and No. 3. First-year ace #Ariel Lewis handled Craig 6-3, 6-3 for her 16th win of the season. Sipp cruised past Erika Acosta in the opening set 6-0 and hung on for a 7-5 second set victory.

A doubles sweep is what it took for the Oberlin women's tennis team to defeat Div. II WVSU in the first of two matches today. OC has a perfect 4-0 record in matches decided by a 5-4 score line.

Oberlin scored easy wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Lewis and Gates were 8-4 winners and seniors Sarah Teitelbaum and Jane Hayden made short work of the Yellow Jackets' Russell and Steward, 8-3.

Oberlin head coach Constantine Ananiadis said, “These seniors really played well today, a quick win from Jane and Sarah and then the deciding point won by Liv and Kelly was a good confidence boost as we head into Thursday's match against a good regionally ranked opponent in Carleton College.”

O. Hayden and Sipp have found their spot since moving to No. 2 doubles, they are playing good tennis and are beginning to shine according to coach Ananiadis. The duo raced out to a 6-3 lead but the marathon match would eventually be tied for the first of several occasions at 6-6. An number of saved match points by both teams extended the match to a 9-9 deadlock before the Yeowomen partnership took the final two games.

Results from Oberlin's evening match versus the University of Sioux Falls will be posted late tonight.

Oberlin (9-5) has upped their win total from a year ago with today's victory. OC will have a day of rest tomorrow before taking on Carleton Thursday.
