Granville, Ohio – In their final meet before the 2009 NCAC Indoor Championships, the Oberlin College track and field teams turned in many strong performances at the Denison Last Chance Meet.
Senior
Conor Doss was the headliner of the night for the Yeomen – posting a school-record time of 8:48.84 in the 3,000 meters.
Josh Gallagher also hurled the shot put 47-05.25 to finish fifth overall.
On the women's end, senior
Ali Gemma had strong meet by winning the 55-meters in 7.71. The New York native also placed second in the 200 with a mark of 27.41.
Junior
Madeline Schultz won the high jump by clearing 5-03.25 and placed second in the 200 meters at 28.06. She also finished in third in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.18.
Sophomore
Amanda Miller was victorious in the 400 meters after touching the tape in 1:02.39 and ended in third in the 55 meters with dash of 7.99.
Distance extraordinaires
Joanna Johnson and
Nicky Ouellet also competed at the NYU Fast Track Meet. Johnson ran the 5,000 meters in 17:32, while Ouellet checked in at 5:04 in the mile.
The NCAC Championships are set for March 6-7 on the campus of Denison University.
