In a double-dual meet on Saturday afternoon, the Oberlin College swimming and diving teams upended John Carroll, but fell against conference foe Allegheny.

“It was a disappointing loss to Allegheny, but there were a few positives that we will build upon as we continue to prepare for the conference championships in February.” head coach Mark Fino said.

The Yeowomen bested JCU 148-82, but were upended by the Gators 142-94. The Yeomen topped the Blue Streaks by a 126-78 margin, but were bit by the Gators 118-86.

On the women's side, sophomore sensation Sara Kadi registered a pair of wins – first checking in with a mark of 1:59.60 in the 200-yard free and later returning to take the top spot in the 100-yard free with a time of 55.15.

In women's 400-yard IM, Jane McIntyre put together a strong swim to complete the course in 4:53.65 – nearly five seconds better than the second place finisher.

After recording a victory last night against Ohio Northern, Laura Fries picked up right where she left off by winning the 200-yard back in 2:15.59.

First-year Nick Lashway continued his impressive rookie season with a win in the 400-yard IM as he touched in at 4:27.85. He also added a second-place showing in the 200-yard back with a time of 2:02.84.

The foursome of Jon Vimr, Bud Stracker, Mark Muthersbaugh and Scott McInerney combined to post a time of 3:23.87 to win the 400-yard free relay. Vimr (200-yard free/1:50.42), Stracker (200-yard breast/2:19.91) and McInerney (50-yard free/22.29) also added second-place finishes as individuals.

The Yeoswimmers will have one last tune-up before the NCAC Championship meet in mid-February as they will take part in another double-dual at Ohio Wesleyan next Saturday at 1 p.m.
