September 10 –
The Oberlin College women's soccer team battled the Baldwin-College Yellow Jackets closely for 90 minutes, but could not cash in any scoring opportunities as B-W came away with a 2-0 win over the Yeowomen on Wednesday afternoon.

After a scoreless first half, the Yellow Jackets' Vickie Dreiling scored her first of two goals at the 54:11 mark as she followed her own shot after a great save by OC keeper Christie Zelnik. Unfortunately, the rebound came right back to her and she was able to finish the second time as the ball caromed off the far post into the goal.

Minutes later Oberlin had a chance to tie the game as Katy Holihan broke free on the far side, but had her shot turned away by B-W keeper Becky Miller. Holihan had another opportunity to tie the game in the 68th minute but her shot got rejected by the post.

Dreiling added an insurance goal late in the match and the Yellow Jackets limited Oberlin from having any real scoring threats down the stretch to escape Fred Shults Field with the win.

B-W held a 19-11 advantage on shots, including an 11-4 edge in shots on goal. Zelnik was able to turn away nine of those shots as she was credited with a season-high nine saves.

The Yeowomen return to the road for a 1 p.m. showdown at Adrian on Saturday.
