August 29 – After a plethora of shots, it took till the second half before the Oberlin College women's soccer team broke through to record a 2-0 victory over Defiance on Friday night.

At the 57:41 mark Madeline Schultz got the Yeowomen on the board with a 22-yard shot from the top of the box that sailed past the keepers head. Veronica Fusco got credit for the assist on the play.

Fusco added an insurance goal of her own 10 minutes on dish from Lois Immerman.

OC dominated Defiance in all phases of the game, out shooting them 19-7 – including an 11-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Yeowomen also registered five corner kicks compared to the Yellow Jackets' two.

Oberlin gets right back to work tomorrow with a 3 p.m. match against Mount Union.
