December 5 – The Oberlin College swimming and diving team had many outstanding performances on day two of the Wooster Invite.
“It was a great day all the way around, and I was happy with the way everyone swam,” head coach Mark Fino said. “We had a good morning and followed that with many quality swims during the finals.”
Sophomore
Sara Kadi continued her winning ways by tapping in first with a time of 59.40 in the 100-yard fly. First-year
Jane McIntyre also posted a timestamp of 1:01.21 to finish first in the “B” final of the event.
Senior
Scott McInerney recorded his second lifetime-best mark of the weekend – finishing the prelim of the 100-yard fly in 51.85 and later returned to finish third during the finals.
Bud Stracker continued his impressive rookie campaign by winning the “B” final of the 100-yard breast with a time 1:00.93- fifth-best in school history.
The Yeomen's 200-yard medley relay team nearly recorded a new school record by clocking in at 1:37.32- just 63-hundreths-of-a-second off the record pace.
The men rest tied for sixth in the 10-team meet with 512 points, while the Yeowomen sit in seventh with 441 points.
The third and final day of the Wooster Invite will get underway tomorrow at 10 a.m.
