Box Score
October 8 – The Oberlin College women's soccer team put up a hard fight against No. 14 Denison, but was outlasted 2-0 by the nationally-ranked Big Red.
“Although the score may not show it, we played our best game of the season,” head coach Kristen Hayden said. “Defensively, we played extremely hard, and I couldn't be more proud of the effort our players put forth tonight.”
Oberlin (3-7-1, 0-2 NCAC) held the Big Red scoreless for nearly 70 minutes, battling for possession throughout the match.
Denison (8-2-1, 2-0 NCAC) finally broke through on a Kim Oshita goal after she took a cross from the far side. The goal was Denison's only score in the run of play as it later took advantage of a phantom hand-ball call in the box, adding an insurance goal on a penalty kick.
The Yeowomen triggered just two shots on the night, focusing the majority of their effort on the defensive end.
Junior
