October 18 –
Aggressive offense propelled the Oberlin College men's soccer team to a 4-2 conference win over Denison University on Saturday afternoon.

The Yeomen struck first on a Pete Sabo goal as he was streaking the far side of the field and finished the service from Oliver Miller-Farrell.

After a Denison goal at the 38:24 mark, David Lowe took a loose ball in front of the goal and deposited it into the back of the net to give the Yeomen at 2-1 lead at the break.

Oberlin kept up the pressure to start the second half, getting its third tally of the match just 48 seconds in when John Lindner finished off a set piece that came off the foot Drew Williamson and the head of Wyatt Hayman before it was directed into the goal by Lindner.

The scoring barrage kept coming as Skyler Dum recorded his team-leading ninth goal of the season, stealing a long Denison pass and blowing by the Denison defense to beat the goalie one-on-one at the 71:26 mark.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Yeomen and lifts their overall record to 8-8 (2-4 NCAC). Before the match, Oberlin honored seniors' Kyle Taljan, Derrick Bean, Michael Mullaley, Luke Hoffman, Zach Lewis and Linder for the tremendous contributions they have made to the program over the last four years.

The Yeomen closeout the season with their final three matches on the road. First up is Allegheny on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.
