Oberlin Blanked by Allegheny, 3-0

For the second straight game, the Oberlin College women's soccer team surrendered an early goal and was unable to overcome the deficit as they fell to Allegheny 3-0 on Tuesday afternoon.

The Gators got on the board just 1:24 into the match as Abby Silvester cashed in shot from 30 yards out.

All three goals from the victors came in the first half as the Yeowomen were able to lock down defensively in the final 45 minutes.

Oberlin triggered just two shots in the game, compared to 19 for Allegheny and was hindered by a 7-1 Gators advantage on corner kicks.

Christie Zelnik had a strong afternoon between the pipes from the Yeowomen, making six saves.

Oberlin is glad to return to home to Fred Shults Field on Saturday when they take on Wittenberg at 1 p.m.
