Box Score

October 1 –
The Oberlin College men's soccer team fell behind early and never got the offense in rhythm as they were outlasted by Otterbein, 2-1, on Wednesday afternoon.

The Cardinals got on the board first in the 22nd-minute, taking advantage of an own goal created by a Yeomen defender.

The 1-nil score would stand up all the way till the 86th-minute when Otterbein added a late insurance goal, which proved to be the difference.

The Yeomen finally broke through three minutes later when Luke Hoffman converted a corner kick into his second goal of the season. Unfortunately, the second-half horn went off just seconds later to prevent Oberlin from a chance to tie the match.

The Yeomen took home a 10-9 advantage in shots -including five on goal, and also pressured Otterbein into surrendering four corner kicks, while allowing just two.

Cardinals' keeper David Dziedzicki registered five saves with OC net minder Zach Lipshultz checking in with two stops on the afternoon.

Oberlin will look to get back on track when they return to conference play on Saturday against Earlham. The opening kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. from Fred Shults Field.
