Victor Guerrieri, a 1968 graduate of Lorain Admiral King High School, attended Oberlin College because he liked the school's combination of educational challenge and strong athletic programs. A basketball standout, Guerrieri earned four varsity letters at Oberlin, was the first Oberlin player to be named to the first All-OAC first team, and was a two-time Academic All-American. He scored 1, 651 points in four seasons, the third highest all-time at Oberlin, and owns a 19.7 career scoring average. As a sophomore, Guerrieri led Oberlin to a 16-6 record and the team's first OAC tournament championship. Guerrieri had a single game high of 43 points in a 107-72 win over Carnegie-Mellon during his senior season in 1972 establishing an Oberlin record that stood for 15 years. Oberlin's team captain, he averaged 23.7 points per game as a senior finishing second in the OAC scoring race. An excellent student, Guerrieri earned a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry in 1972. He earned numerous academic honors including being named to the freshman dean's list and receiving a post graduate scholarship from the NCAA. Guerrieri earned the M.A. degree in education from Stanford University and is now regional sales manager for IBM-Rolm corporation in San Francisco, California. A man of many talents, Guerrieri once appeared on the ABC television show "Name That Tune." He won $500 for knowing "My Momma Done Tol' Me, " and $400 for "Gonna Fly Now." He was eliminated when he failed to name "Georgia On My Mind" in four notes.
