Nicholas Marshall, Class of 1986, competed in four sports and earned eight varsity letters ‹ four in cross country and four in track. Marshall was the 2-mile North Coast Athletic Conference Champion during the indoor season as well as the NCAC Champion in the 5, 000 meters during the outdoor season in 1986. He set the school record in the 5,000 meters. Marshall was co-captain of the cross country team for three seasons and the track captain for one season. He was named All-NCAC in cross country and in track during his senior season. Marshall also was named to the NCAC All-Decade Outdoor Track and Field Team. After earning his B.A. in history and economics from Oberlin in 1986, Marshall worked as a management counselor and high school teacher. He also coached cross country and track and field at Matignor High School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, for three years. Marshall is currently completing his Ph.D. in American history at the University of California at Davis. Nicholas and his wife, Sarah, reside in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, with their children, Josephine, Max and Miles.
