Laszlo Babos was an accomplished men’s lacrosse player for Oberlin College from 1958-1961, earning first-team All-Midwest Lacrosse Association (MLA) honors as a goalie in each of his four seasons in the crimson and gold.
In his senior year, Babos was a co-captain for the Yeomen while garnering Division Ill honorable mention All-America honors. During his career, Oberlin won four-consecutive MLA Championships and amassed a
38-5-1 record.
Babos, a member of two undefeated teams (1959, 1960), still holds numerous school records, including most wins in a season (11), most wins in a career (38), single season saves percentage (.818/1960), single season goals against average (3.40/1960) and career goals against average (4.39).
Upon graduation from Oberlin, Babos enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. From 1961-1965, he served our country with tours of duty in California and Japan.
After his stint with the USMC, Babos ventured into the insurance field, working for Allstate for over 40 years, eventually owning his own branch.
