Kenneth Lindfors arrived at Oberlin in the fall of 1953 and earned a B.A. in History from Oberlin College in 1957. One of the top soccer players to pass through Oberlin, Lindfors earned four letters and was co-captain of the 1956 team. Oberlin compiled a record of 28-3-4 during Lindfors four seasons. He earned many honors and distinctions as a soccer player, gaining All-America status as an honorable mention choice in 1955 and a first team selection in 1956. In 1954, 1955, and 1956 he was named to both the All-Midwest and All-Ohio soccer teams. Lindfors also played Lacrosse for two seasons at Oberlin, earning varsity letters during his junior and senior years. He helped the team to a perfect 8-0 mark in 1956 and a two-year record of 13-3, landing a place on the All-Midwest Lacrosse team as a senior. When he wasn't dominating contests on the athletic fields, Lindfors kept occupied with his positions as Dormitory Counselor and House Chaplain, and his participation in the Mock Convention. After graduation from Oberlin, Lindfors went on to earn his M.A.T. from Harvard, where he concentrated in Education and History, and then devoted his life to educating and coaching young people. He spent twenty-six years at Suffield Academy, an independent secondary school in Connecticut, where he held various positions, including Headmaster for eleven years. He also coached soccer for nineteen years and golf for fourteen years at Suffield. Currently, Lindfors is President of ASSIST, a student exchange program linking some of the best and brightest students from around the world with American independent schools.
