Keith LaDu, Class of '88, was an All-America linebacker with the Oberlin football team. He earned four varsity letters (1984-1987) and was co-captain in his senior year. LaDu was named to the Associated Press Little All-America second team in 1987, All-America Football News first team in 1987, Pizza Hut All-American first team in 1987 and second team in 1985 and 1986. LaDu holds three school records including tackles in a game with 31 (1985 vs Marietta), tackles in a season with 201 (1986), and career tackles with 712 (241 solo tackles and 471 assisted). He was a first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection in 1985 and 1987, and an honorable mention selection in 1984 and 1986. LaDu was recognized as one of the NCAC's all-time greats when he was named to the 10th anniversary NCAC Football Team. LaDu finished his career with 31 tackles for loss, 17 pass breakups, 10 sacks, 10 fumbles caused, nine interceptions, and eight fumble recoveries. After receiving his B.A. in psychology and physical education from Oberlin, LaDu went on to get his Ph.D. from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was an orthopedic surgery resident at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, until 1997 when he returned to Oberlin to begin his orthopedic surgery practice at the Oberlin Clinic and the Allen Memorial Hospital. LaDu is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, and the Ohio Osteopathic Association.
