Oberlin College Athletics

John Morton: While attending Oberlin College John Morton earned four varsity letters in track and field. He was an All-American in the shot and the discus and served as co-captain during his senior season. Morton earned his A.B. in geology from Oberlin in 1972. He then went on to get both his M.A. in geology (1977) and then his Ph. D. (1983) from the University of Texas at Austin. Morton serves as a laboratory manager and geochemist at Miami University. John and his wife, Yu Tong, reside in Oxford, Ohio, with their children, James and Rachel.
