John Erikson, who resides in Oberlin, was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan, where he was captain of the high school basketball team and won the state Class "C" singles championship in tennis in '56. He played varsity football, basketball, and tennis at Oberlin and was a Baker scholar. In 1959 Erikson was named to the All-Chemical All-American Football Honor Roll. His wife, Margaret Anne Sahs Erikson '62, is assistant director of the Alumni Association at the College. Their son, Erik '90, is currently a standout player for the Yeomen tennis program. Erikson operates Oberlin Scientific Corporation in Oberlin.
