Guy C. Throner, who passed away in 1967, coached baseball and taught physical education at Oberlin from 1924 until 1954. He also served as director of intramural athletics for the College. Before joining the Oberlin faculty, Throner headed the physical education department at Central High School in Minneapolis (Minn.) and was supervisor of physical education for the state of Virginia.
