One of the most dynamic players in the storied history of Oberlin College football, Chris Schubert was an elite wide receiver and return specialist throughout his four-year career on the gridiron.
A member of the North Coast Athletic Conference All-Decade Team, Schubert is second all-time in NCAC history with 6,301 all-purpose yards. As a senior he earned All-NCAC First-Team honors as a receiver and return specialist, totaling 2,041 all-purpose yards - marking the fourth-best single-season total in league history.
Oberlin's all-time leader with 2,536 receiving yards, Schubert is one of two players in school history with over 200 career receptions and is the only player in program history to have two punt return touchdowns. First in school history with 2,867 kickoff return yards and 343 punt return yards, Schubert earned All-NCAC honors a combined seven times as a wide out and returner.
Following his career with the Yeomen, he was invited to attend the Cleveland Browns rookie/free agent mini camp and he went on to play professionally in various arena leagues for six years.
A former member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and team captain, he started 39 games in his career and graduated with a degree in sociology.
The recipient of Oberlin's Michael P. Dougan and Lysle K. Butler awards, Schubert spent time coaching at the both the high school and college level but currently works at McMaster-Carr as a distribution specialist.
He and his wife, Deonna, reside in Avon, Ohio with his stepdaughter, Raihanna, and their two dogs and cat.
