Chester Pendelton, who died in 1972, was named to the "All-Oberlin" football team by C.W. Savage, Oberlin's first director of athletics, at the tackle position. Savage called Pendelton as "one of Oberlin's greatest linemen." He was selected to the "All-Ohio" football team by the newspapers and was also a member of the Oberlin men's basketball team during his college days. Pendelton worked his way through Western Reserve Law School by playing professional football. In 1913 he entered with his father in Findlay, Ohio. He went on to become the prosecuting attorney of Hancock County (Ohio) Court of Appeals in 1931 and served as common pleas judge from 1935 to 1952. After his retirement, Pendelton practiced law until his death.
