CARL MARTIN ERIKSON, CLASS OF 1994, earned eight varsity letters as a member of the tennis and soccer teams. In 1994 he was named the CoSIDA/GTE Academic All-America Team Athlete of the Year. He was a three-time first-team CoSIDA/GTE Academic All-America selection and an NCAC John Stern Scholar-Athlete Award recipient. Erikson compiled a record of 95-19 in singles and 76-14 in doubles. During his junior and senior years, he was ranked 11th and 10th in singles and 13th and 6th in doubles respectively by the ITCA. He qualified for the NCAA tennis championships three times and earned All-America honors in 1993 and 1994 in both singles and doubles. He was the 1993 and 1994 NCAC Player of the Year and a four-time All-NCAC first-team selection. A three-year starter on the soccer team, Erikson was the team's leading scorer as a sophomore and senior, and scored 38 career points. He was a three-time All-NCAC and Academic All-Ohio selection and a first-team regional Academic All-American in 1992 and 1993.
