A member of the North Coast Athletic Conference All-Decade team, April Wynn-Buchanan had an illustrious track and field career at Oberlin College from 1999-2002.
A six-time NCAC champion, Wynn's name appeared all across both the Oberlin and conference record books during her time on campus. To this day, her triple jump mark of 38-04.25 at the 2001 NCAC Outdoor Championships still stands as a school record.
A 17-time All-NCAC performer, she held conference records in the triple jump, both indoors (35-08.50) and outdoors (38-04.25). She was also a part of the record-setting 4x100 relay team outdoors that clocked in at 48.58 to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championship meet. In addition, she held school-best marks in the long jump, both indoors (17-05.50) and outdoors (17-09.75), while also running on the 4x200 relay team that previously held the record indoors at 1:47.41.
Three times named the team's most valuable athlete, Wynn-Buchanan also excelled in the classroom as a politics major. She was the recipient of the Gertrude E. Moulton scholarship and was selected as a Cole Scholar, which afforded her the opportunity to intern for the California State Democratic Party in Sacramento, California. A member of the student senate, Wynn-Buchanan also reported for the Oberlin Review.
Wynn-Buchanan owns an e-commerce business, which was started in 2014. Additionally, she is a YouTube personality that creates content to teach others how to make a living selling online. She currently works as the Residence Life Coordinator at University Courtyard Apartments which is located on the campus of Youngstown State University, and also serves as a Deputy Student Conduct Officer for YSU.
