Anthony "Tony" Osei was a member of the soccer and track teams during his time at Oberlin College. He received his B.A. in economics with honors then went on to earn a master's in applied economics from American University in 1980 and a Ph.D. in economics from Howard University in 1987. He earned four varsity letters in soccer and was a team captain as a senior. He earned three first-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference awards and was named to the All-Ohio Soccer Team three times and the All-Midwest Soccer Team twice. He holds the Oberlin career record with 53 goals and his 20 goals during the 1975 season set an Oberlin record that still stands. A team captain and two-time letterwinner in track, he established the indoor long jump record of 24 feet 4.5 inches that still stands today. His extracurricular activities included membership in the student senate, the ad hoc committee on investments in South Africa, and the Abusua executive committee. He currently resides in Louisiana and is the associate director for title III at Dillard University.
